Favorite Genre and Why?

The poll I've made has led to some interesting results. So now I'm going to ask the same question, only this time I'd love to know why as well. So what is your favorite genre and why?

    I have several favorite genres, but among them are sci-fi and horror. I love both genres because they push at the borders of our imaginations and force us to explore new possibilities.

    I like the Horror genre the best for several reasons. Sometimes, it's just fun to be scared. Horror fiction can be like riding a roller coaster it gets your adrenaline pumping and maybe you scream or close your eyes and then the ride ends. Other times, I like horror fiction because it makes me think, what would I do if I were in the same situation as the main character. Did I mention Stephen KIng is my favorite author?
